"The People's Summit in New Orleans represents the fighting unity of all people against President Bush and the Summit of the Security and Prosperity Partnership. It is our response to NAFTA expansion. The People's Summit brings together organizations from New Orleans, the Gulf Coast, and many others from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. We are coming together for our communities by linking the Gulf Coast struggle to the fight for the survival of communities in Mexico, Canada, Quebec and the rest of the United States. We are organizing and sharing our experiences to build collective knowledge and action to transform NAFTA and other unjust economic policies pushed by Bush, Prime Minister Stephan Harper of Canada, and Mexico's President Felipe Calderon."
